This daily ritual has brought me to finding so many terrific artists and crafters on Etsy. Well one day I found a blogger with a site that got my attention. I read a few of the posts, really liked the art and clicked over to her Cafepress store. Today she left a comment on my blog that got me looking once again at hers. This time I checked out the Etsy shop Amarettogirl Designs - blurring the line between fine art and craft. Now, I have to share her with you. Aren't these great?

"These are one-of-kind, hand-made art dolls. Each doll is uniquely designed and hand-sculpted using absolutely no molds of any kind. There will NEVER be (under any circumstances) two of the same dolls made, ever (even if I try). Each doll is mounted on her own unique shell designed by the great goddess of the ocean. Each is sculpted out of polymer, with pellet stuffed tails, embroidery thread hair and sea shell earrings. Each one is hand signed by the artist.
Procura comes with her own personality card letting you in on her most intrinsic qualities. Her tail alone is longer than seven inches!"
Amarettogirl is Marisol Diaz , a self-defined NuYorican Artist. Here's another of her pieces - So Far Away

"This is one of the larger pieces in the series at 5 3/8" X 3 1/8". It is drawn with black powdered frit on 4mm thick glass. Black stringer (glass pulled into angel-hair thin sticks) was used for the telephone poles. This whole series of black bird drawings began as a way for me to create a metaphor about my experience missing and moving out of New York City. I hope you see the poetic beauty that I see in this drawing."
Stop by her Etsy shop - Amarettogirl Designs or her Cafepress store
And check out her blog at Amarettogirl.com
I can't wait to read the follow-up story of turning your art into fabric with Spoonflower. Keep blogging!

Wow - this was just amazing - the very best virtual gift I have received since I started blogging last year...I almost cried! When I first signed up with entrecard (a few days ago) I was a bit disappointed - so many bloggers seemed to be overinundated with ads and I kept getting cards dropped by sites completely irrelevant to mine -perhaps all of us seeking more traffic - but I was worried that perhaps no 'genuine' (yet virtual) connections could be made and I really want to create some good 'creative' connections - but then - you came along:) You lit up my day and thanks to entrecard I found someone to shine some light and linky love on me. I will certainly return the love! Not to mention I'm a hard core believer in recycling and restructuring clothing! So yours will be a post I look forward to writinG!
Wonderful feature! I love her So Far Away piece! I'll be sure to visit her shop and blog!
I love your response to amarettogirl,...I have enjoyed her work for a while now and am glad she is getting her art out to a larger audience. I also have enjoyed checking out your site too...keep up the great works and especially keeping the internet a neighborhood place to shop!
I understand what you mean about early morning comments. I do a lot of sleepy late night commenting myself and most of it is nearly unreadable. It's the thought that counts though, right?
Great introduction to an interesting artist! Thank you. And, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I find some wonderful blogs when I'm dropping EC...it's difficult to get many in when I stop to read and comment!
WOW! What a wonderful find in the gorgeous art of Amarettogirl! I love them all but wow at that last piece...that is really gorgeous!
Oh, and Spoonflower is so cool. I've got the set up there and am working on making some fabrics that ONLY I will have. How cool is that? lol
Peace & Love,
~Barb~
